Although we don't currently hold support circles in each town, we still offer our other services to those in Elmore County. We can mail or deliver packets & support packages, meet with you, and deliver memorializing items/provide memorializing services. Hope still works to provide all possible support to our neighbors living in greater Elmore County
Through our Hope Companion Program we can speak with nursing/medical staff, funeral homes, and clergy on your behalf as it pertains to the rites, rituals, or preparation and memorial of your baby. This allows you to communicate your wishes and make important decisions when the decisions are overwhelming, the conversation is too painful, or you are unsure how to communicate with your provider about your grief.
Some of the ways this may look:
Dressing your baby in a gown or bunting (or clothing of your choice)
Helping you compose a message for friends & family
Creating memories such as hand/foot molds or other keepsakes
Photographing your baby, or
Communicating other wishes about how you will say goodbye
We currently offer a monthly support meeting the first Friday of each month, and a dads' group on the last Friday of each month.
These meetings are open to anyone from MHAFB, Mountain Home, Glenns Ferry, Pine-Featherville, Hammett, and the greater Elmore County area. We also welcome our neighbors from other counties who need relief and can make the drive. We hope to offer in-community meetings across Elmore later in 2021.
A schedule of meeting dates/times is available on our Facebook page, or you can reach out via text or email
Grief and loss are isolating events. We can feel hopeless, helpless, and alone. You may feel envious or a sensation described as 'bitterness' while grieving.
This is especially true of the unspoken and often unacknowledged pain of pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or loss of an infant. You may experience shame, anger, a desire to punish yourself or to avoid happiness. These normal reactions can form guilt that reinforces our sense of aloneness and loneliness.
Each person you interact with during your journey with Hope will have some understanding of where you are, will have experienced it and survived it. Your thoughts, feelings, experiences, wishes, and struggles are valid and welcome.
